Hans Petter Ulleberg

Hans Petter Ulleberg holds a Ph.D. in Education from 2006 and he is a professor at the Department of Education and Lifelong Learning, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). He has been Head of the Department of Education and the Department of Education and Lifelong Learning from 2009-2021. He have led the National Academic Council for Educational Sciences, Universities Norway in the period 2011-2021. From august 2025 he is Vice-Dean for Research at the Faculty of Social and Educational sciences at NTNU. He is also head of the research group Researching Materiality, Politics, and Pedagogy in Education (ReMaPP) focusing on critical studies in educational policies, materialities, and pedagogies.

His field of research is school environment and socialization, physical learning environments of schools, and educational history and policy. Thus, he is concerned with the significance of place and space in educational discourse and pedagogy. In his research, Hans Petter uses text and discourse analysis, literature reviews, qualitative methods (interviews and photovoice).
