Eirik Ringen Hammarstrøm is a Ph.D-student at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), specialising in educational policy and school spaces. My research explores the intersection between supranational policy and local implementation. I analyse policy documents from international organisations to uncover the ideas and motivations behind the promotion of innovative learning environments. Complementing this, I conduct interviews with local decision-makers, school principals, and teachers to understand how these policies translate into the practical realities of designing and constructing new school buildings. Through this two-fold approach, I aim to help bridge the gap between policy aspirations and everyday pedagogical practice.
