Hanna Hofverberg is an associate professor at the Department of Natural Science, Mathematics and Society (NMS), at the Faculty of Learning and Society, Malmö University. She has a PhD in Didaktik with a specialisation in Environmental and Sustainability Education (ESE) and Design, Craft and Technology Education. In the context of school architecture, Hanna is interested in the relationship between pedagogy and physical space – for example, how educational policies and architecture design interact to shape learning environments, and how imaginaries of future pedagogies are constructed and come to matter in teaching and learning. She has a particular interest in various types of “labs” as learning spaces, such as Sloyd (craft) and design classrooms, makerspaces, creative arenas, and science laboratories – both indoors and outdoors.
